Jennifer Haidar

I graduated from Iowa State University in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and minor in Spanish. After graduation, I was an elementary school teacher in both Des Moines and Johnston for a combined 16 years. During this time, I received my Masters in Education and primarily taught immigrant and refugee children as an ESL teacher. It was towards the end of my teaching career, I learned more about the challenges of mental health and its impact on all areas of life, and I decided to move towards a new calling, and in 2020 I graduated with a Master in Social Work from Walden University.

I am a licensed master social worker in the state of Iowa. For verification and confirmation of my credentials you are welcome to visit the Iowa Department of Public Health website. Additionally, I have been trained in EMDR, a unique approach to healing past traumas and difficult life experiences. I am committed to building a supportive and non-judgmental relationship with all of my clients to help them realize their own gifts to share with the world.

Personally, I am a mom and stepmother to 5 children, as well as a wife, daughter and sister. My faith in God has been a foundation and healing force in my own life, and I consider it an honor to help interested clients grow in their faith as a source of restoration and meaning.

In my spare time you will find me outdoors, and finding new adventures with my family.
